Easter Sugar Cookies

April 22, 2011 in cookies - 9 Comments - 2 min read

It’s been such a busy week, I am sorry that I haven’t posted in a while.  At work on Monday, I had two co-workers ask if I could make Easter sugar cookies.  One wanted a dozen polka-dotted eggs for their office aides, (I work in a high school), and the other wanted two dozen variety cookies to fill her children’s Easter baskets and adorn her Easter table.  So what did I do?  After I panicked a bit, (I haven’t had this large of a cookie order before), I called my mom to see if she could watch Matthew Wednesday morning while I worked.  Moms are great to have around.  And grandmas are even better.

I was already planning on making Easter cookies for my family, so I combined my two paid orders with my gifts to my family and decorated five dozen cookies.  By Wednesday night I had sore muscles in my right arm I didn’t even know I had.  Needless to say, piping cookies doesn’t use the same muscles as writing.  Anyway, I am really glad how they turned out, and was especially pleased with the bunny faces, as I thought those were going to be the hardest to do.  They were more fun to decorate than I thought!

These pictures were taken at night, (as I had to deliver the cookies Thursday morning), so they are a little yellow.

Here are all five dozen drying on my kitchen counter.  It’s a good thing yesterday was the last day of my cleanse, (see previous post), otherwise I would have been tempted to eat a few.

These pictures are cookies for my family.  Surprise family if you’re reading this!  You’ll get to eat this yummy goodness on Sunday.

And here is Eric’s egg.  He couldn’t wait until Sunday to eat it.  Literally couldn’t wait.  He ate it tonight.  I told him that it would have to suffice until Sunday, so he has some cookies in his Easter basket and doesn’t have to watch everyone eat theirs.

And here’s a chick who just hatched.  Hi cutie chick!  You’re hair’s sticking up  like Matthew’s.

These are my favorite from the whole bunch.

All packaged now and waiting for Sunday.  Happy Easter!  As for my Easter, our family is going to go to the early service at church, (Easter is always more crowded than other Sundays), swing by Eric’s parents’ house for a bit, and then enjoy a fabulous dinner my mom is going to make.  Did I mention that moms are great?

Holly, these are just incredible! Good job! If you were nearby, I’d hire you to make some for our guests! Your Aunt decorates rooms, not cookies! Ha!

And you do such a good job at decorating. And your breakfasts are amazing! Maybe I will bring some sugar cookies to Elise’s wedding, and you can enjoy some while you’re in town. :)
