Happy almost Valentine’s Day! I wanted to play around with some new tools I bought and thought it’d be fun to incorporate them into different cookie sets. The wet-on-wet technique of the hearts is also a fun design to do. It’s simple yet elegant. But the new technique I wanted to try was the white heart. I used an impression mat and rolled the design onto fondant. I then used my cookie cutter to cut the heart out and placed it on the cookie, gluing it with edible glue.
Here’s a closer picture of the cookie.
Lace designs are one of my absolute favorite things to pipe. I could literally do it for hours.
At some point, I would love to take a hot air balloon ride, but right now I will enjoy it from the comfort of my house. The hearts on the balloons and plaque are a fondant mold that I then painted.
It’s a little hard to see, but they are textured with a crisscross pattern.
I’m calling this set Love Potion No. 9. I bought a wax seal from JoAnn some time ago for the sole purpose of this cookie. I pressed it into a small ball of fondant and then painted it once it was dry.
Here is a close-up of the envelope cookie.
I know not everyone is a fan of fondant, but what’s nice about these cookies is that if you don’t like the taste of it, you can easily remove it and still enjoy the rest of the cookie. Whatever you do for Valentine’s Day, shower someone with love! xoxo
