My husband loves puns. When he shares his witty, word concoction, I just roll my eyes. I shouldn’t. I should be more supportive as a wife and laugh, saying, “That was so funny! You’re so quick on your feet to think of that!” When I was making these sugar cookies, I decided to try and be punny. But this is what cracks me up. I had a tag I was making on the computer and he saw it. He looked at me and said, “You know, that’s not how you spell gnarly.” I gave him a quizzical look, and retorted, “I know. It’s a pun off the word narwhal. You’re narley. Get it?” Apparently, my puns aren’t as good as his.
Anyway, here’s some Valentine cookies I made last weekend, and only the narwhal is a true pun. :)
Ice cream cones. “You Melt My Heart.”
Trucks of love. The hearts are royal icing transfers and I used an air gun to spray on the pink hearts. (It’s my new birthday present and I’m still figuring out how it works, haha!)
“I Think You’re Narley!” I still like the pun.
Enjoy! xoxo
